ABSTRACT

Managers often make a decision based on their experience or their instincts. An easy aid to coming to a more considered choice is the Decision Table. The different options are weighted against each other on the basis of a number of criteria. Prior to setting up a Decision Table, it must be clear which options are being considered. These options are simply described and included horizontally in the table. The substantive criteria go further into the considerations that must be made between the options in the Decision Table. For each option a consideration is made of each criterion with regard to the effect of the solution concerning this criterion. With the aid of the Decision Table, the enterprise gains insight into which choices should be made on the basis of the considered criteria.
