ABSTRACT

Every enterprise has four production factors to achieve the desired results of the enterprise. These desired results are established in the vision, mission and objectives. The four production factors are: labour, resources, capital, and information. Meanwhile, the collection of data is no longer a problem. The opposite is even true, there is an overload of data. From this overload it is important to extract the right data, which can lead to knowledge. By making use of M. Weggeman's knowledge value chain, this knowledge can be disseminated so that it has meaning for everyone and can be handled in the right way. Knowledge management can be viewed from different angles. These are: business angle, policy angle, strategic angle, and administrative angle. The knowledge value chain comprises a number of processes that are gone through in succession to deploy the available knowledge for the realisation of the objectives of the enterprise. These objectives are formulated from the policy of the enterprise.
