ABSTRACT

The world of capital projects offers a different path to conduct a pilot digital transformation, even while the organization remains analog in all other aspects of its operations. The ultimate effect of a non-digital project delivery philosophy can be summed up as follows: The project’s naia will evolve into a morass of disconnected, disjointed information instances incapable of being integrated into an asset’s planned digitalized philosophy. The importance of the asset’s physical configuration lies in its purpose as organizing principle. The data emissary plays a pivotal role in the creation of the various visualization templates that will be embedded in the graphic user interfaces of the 3D kernel, from the outset and as time goes by. The automated tracking metrics process described above involved one algorithm to quantify the expected duration, costs, and resources of a sequence of works, and one robotic system to create an instantaneous digital picture of what’s been done and what’s missing.
