ABSTRACT

The reader has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the literature on starting, running, and growing a business. Business models explain how organizations marshal their resources toward revenue generation and sustained profitability. All business models start with the question “what to sell” and proceeds to design the functional blocks needed to produce the object of the sale. Information assets are managed according to usage, which boils down to two types: human and machine. Information assets are windows into the organization’s holobiome relationships that exist on the strength of their information transactions. The exogenous dataset identifies with the organization’s holobiome. Customer and supplier relationships are characterized predominantly by incoming data conveying the revenue story. The endogenous datasets speak to the organization’s cost structure, whether they are expenditures or expenses.
