ABSTRACT

Picking the right technological solution, it goes without saying, is arrantly important to the health and bottom line of the organization. The functional requirements and specifications form the assessment basis from which technological solutions will be evaluated. The total cost of ownership criterion must be an integral component of the assessment process. Technological solutions anchored to a software engine are notoriously more insidious than run-of-the-mill equipment subject to straightforward depreciation rules. The sum of the functional requirements, functional specifications, and design specifications constitutes the systemic definition of the solution. In addition, the advanced solutions will be deployed across the organization, a move that implies formal management structures, additional IT oversight, bespoke training, and recurring maintenance/license fees. Numer solutions are fundamentally different from their Plik counterparts because of the physical constraints they entail. Plik solutions are rolled out; numer solutions are constructed.
