ABSTRACT
In scientific publications and in the academic world there are strict rules for reusing information: even internal memos sometimes have to be documented. Web of Science, put an acknowledgment in the text and automatically build up a bibliography: cite while readers write. Information that readers' find in Google Scholar or on the websites of organisations can often be imported with one click of their mouse. “Information technology (IT) has become pervasive in current dynamic and often turbulent business environments. While in the past, business executives could delegate, ignore or avoid IT decisions, this is impossible in most sectors and industries. The risk factor is accompanied by a wide spectrum of external threats, such as errors and omissions, abuse, cyber crime and fraud. IT of course has the potential not only to support existing business strategies, but also to shape new strategies.
