ABSTRACT

The Almighty is the God of the spirits of all flesh in the sense of being, not only the judge of the human spirit, but its Lord. He is the master-soul, of whom all human souls are the dependents. The human spirit is close linked in nature to the Universal Spirit. Children of clay, men have in them divine potencies. In life they can lift themselves to God, just as at death they go to Him to enter upon an ampler being. The spiritual world, it is contended, must be real seeing that millions of men have entered it, and had their being in it, since time began. God is proved by human belief in Him. It may be urged that this spiritual experience is purely subjective, that men have made God for themselves, just as in idolatrous ages they made them gods.
