ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the studies carried out in the river basin, by means of a hydrological-hydraulic and flood analysis of the Zamora Huayco river basin, which includes the confluence of the San Simon and El Carmen basins, forming the channel that reaches the city of Loja, crossing it from southeast to northwest. The project site is located in the southeast of the Loja, because of the intersection of El Carmen and San Simon streams as a point of interest for the hydrological study. The project site is located southeast of the city of Loja, because of the intersection of the El Carmen and San Simon streams as a point of interest for the hydrological study. Although floods in the study basin seem highly probable, the problem of erosion and how it acts in an associated manner, generating many risks, must be taken into account.
