ABSTRACT

The capability of DRA (dielectric resonator antenna) horn antenna is to deliver high directivity, multiple modes and wide bandwidth. The directivity is due to large aperture at microwave frequencies. In this chapter, pyramidal horn DRA design and theory has been developed. Dielectric material of high permittivity (12.8) has been used in place of metal. Multiple modes have been excited into horn DRA. The designed antenna operates in S-band at 2.4 GHz. The simulation results show that the pyramidal horn structure exhibits excellent gain of 11.8 dBi as well as good radiation pattern over wideband.
