Symptoms related to chest are terrifying for patients. Acute chest pain is a regular visitor to general practice. It may generate more adrenaline in the physician than the patient. This chapter presents a discussion on the causes, diagnosis, and investigation of symptoms related to chest in patients. It provides a general practitioner overview, differential diagnosis, possible investigations, and top tips for dealing with chest symptoms. The symptoms discussed are acute shortness of breath, chest pain, chronic shortness of breath, cough in adults, cough in children, coughing up blood, and palpitations. The differential diagnosis include common, occasional, and rare causes of the symptoms.
