ABSTRACT
Even before the start of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, several Japanese filmmakers have expressed skeptical views on the official narrative of a prosperous and peaceful post-Olympic Japan in their films. This chapter focuses on the pessimistic vision of Japan after the Olympic year as depicted in recent works of Japanese cinema.
