ABSTRACT
The introductory chapter presents the research objectives of the study. Given that the judgements of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) are at the heart of the study, it seeks to provide an overview of the elements that need to be taken into account in respect of legal research focusing on the case-law of the ECJ. First, it provides an overview of the issues to be taken into consideration when analysing the ECJ’s case-law. Second, it examines the methodological aspects of a study whose focus is on the ECJ’s case-law in relation to the energy sector.
