When someone has exam anxiety and is worried that time is running out for revision or there is not enough time in an exam, it can be a distraction for them as they watch the hands of the clock. The author just want you to imagine a clock it can be anywhere you like indoors or outdoors. Look at it from the very centre of the clock and follow it to the tip of the hand. Now focus on the big hand and with your clever special mind make it travel around the clock's face. Let it start slowly and gradually as it goes round the clock face make it go faster.
