ABSTRACT
In the script which follows, Chinga the cat had developed a fear of needles after a bad experience at the vet's when she was a kitten. This script can be adapted to find out the root cause of other fears or phobias a child may be experiencing, but obviously would not be suitable if the child had a phobia or fear about a cat. Chinga is a beautiful tabby cat with four very white paws, who lives with her husband, Charles, who is a ginger cat. Mrs Snaith told Chinga that she was going to take her to the vet's next week. As Helen was saying 'good-bye' to her last client of the day, she saw Chinga sitting on the doormat. Helen loved cats so she asked Chinga to come in and sit on her lap. Each time Chinga imagined it she felt so much better.
