ABSTRACT
The story of Harriet the Hedgehog explains how Harriet was rejected by her mum and bullied by her siblings. The author want to tell you about Harriet the hedgehog, because you remind me a bit of how Harriet used to be and he think you might like to know how things turned out for her. Harriet's mum, Hilda, had a difficult time giving birth to the hoglets; the three boys were born very quickly and close together, but it took hours and hours to get Harriet out. When she was being born, Harriet's back right leg got stuck; it was twisted and then permanently damaged, so she always walked with a limp. Harriet told Derek how she had ended up in the back of his van. So he carried Harriet down to the river and introduced her to Millicent Mouse, who had been through some rough times in her own life.
