ABSTRACT

The story of Spencer the singer-songwriter is a metaphor which can help abused children in particular realise that happiness and success can be found if you do believe in yourself and that it is never too late to heal or succeed. The author want to tell you about Spencer the singer-songwriter because he think you are very like him in some ways. Helen could not work in her role as a hypnotherapist to help Spencer because they were friends, so she thought about how else she could get Spencer to think differently about himself and build his confidence. Spencer loved singing the songs he wrote in the room and his beautiful voice was heard by musicians who wanted to play alongside him. Spencer had always found it difficult to accept compliments and actually found it very embarrassing.
