ABSTRACT

A properly trained hypnotherapist knows that it is imperative to build rapport with a client and undertake a thorough assessment before deciding the best way to work with him or her. With children it is so important to have some knowledge about their interests before you even meet them and then build on that during the assessment. Before that can happen in the therapy room the hypnotherapist has to get them interested and talking. Depending on the child’s age the author will do this by engaging in play and drawing. It is not always necessary to use actual objects; the purpose of this script is to encourage the child to use an object they find in their imagination whilst walking around the flea market. Reader could look for something as they walk along but the author know a really good place that has all sorts of interesting things to look at – it’s called the flea market.
