ABSTRACT
A historical look at the development of DOS and Windows. In the review of Windows (emphasizing Windows 10), the Windows top-level directory layout and files, Windows processes and services, Windows settings, and Windows system administration are all included. Throughout the chapter, a variety of Windows-based tools are introduced such as the Control Panel, Settings, Computer Manager, Device Manager, Troubleshooters, Windows Task Manager, Windows Event Viewer, and the Windows Registry and Registry Editor.
