ABSTRACT

Assessment & Attainment of Course Outcomes (CO) in an Outcome Based Education (OBE) is very important. The Course outcomes are well-defined based on the Program Outcomes (PO’s) and mapped with Bloom’s Taxonomy which defines the Cognitive levels of learning for every course. Attainment of Course Outcomes needs to be assessed and evaluated to understand the cognitive learning level of students. This paper explains the process of assessing and evaluating students based on their performance in their examination for which the Question Paper is designed based on the keywords specified for each cognitive learning level under the Bloom’s Taxonomy. This paper proposes to predict and analyze the learning ability of the student’s level-wise and help in enriching their higher-order thinking skills. It describes in detail the process of creating the dataset of student samples answering questions being asked level-wise. The results obtained using the traditional assessment methods are also discussed in this paper.
