ABSTRACT
Engineering education in India makes a significant share of the overall education system. Engineering education institutions have been rapidly growing year by year. This paper focused on the impact of NIRF on research outcomes of engineering institutions and evaluates year-wise trends of publications by the Engineering Institutes. The study examines the growth of publication in the various subject categories as well as the impact of publication growth before and after NIRF i.e. India Rankings. Moreover, rank of institutions as per publications growth and h-index during the NIRF. The sample data is considered for 20 institutes from the top 25 top engineering institutes continues ranked last three years in NIRF. The data for this study has been collected from the Web of Science (WoS) bibliographic database for the last six years.
