ABSTRACT

Crime has always been continuously increasing. From the independence, where the resources to fight with it were less, to the present day, the crimes have evolved. The study aims to find how illiterate and non – working individuals affect the crime heads – dacoity, murder and robbery. Through this we found how the socio – demographic factors actually affect the crime rate of different states in the country and how it can help in policy making decisions for the nation. The experimental results have shown that the crime head ‘murder’ is dependent upon the literacy and unemployment in every state analyzed in this study.
