This chapter found that all members and government of SAARC are required to take measures to build a consensus for regional cooperation and to channelize increasing proportions of resources towards the protection of the environment as well as to build adaptive capacity. In the end it can be said that climate change in a way has the potential to unite the SAARC countries so long as the member states recognize climate change as a threat and cooperate to achieve a policy that is coordinated and inclusive. In this the ability of SAARC to evolve its food systems, capacity to deal with floods and droughts in the light of climate change, will be the key indicators of its future progress. Otherwise SAARC ministerial summits and subsequent declarations will have little significance.
