ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we start off with a story about a case demonstrating what can happen when we don’t put the right team together. We move on to dissect the question, “What is a Team?” We explore (1) roles and responsibilities, (2) characteristics of an effective Principal Analyst, (3) the challenges of leading a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) facilitation, (4) how to listen effectively, (5) a code of conduct for running an RCA team meeting, and (6) writing a Team Charter and Critical Success Factors. A key point made in this chapter is that the analysis can only be the analysts’, no matter what fancy software people or analytical tools they may have.
