ABSTRACT

In this chapter three objectives are accomplished. The first objective is to understand the impact analysis in a linear mathematical programing model. The second objective of this chapter is to study the dual of a linear mathematical programing model. Duality is very useful in solving directly for the marginal cost, marginal revenue product of a factor of production, and the marginal physical products of the economic resources if the primal program is formulated in a specific way. In addition, solving the dual of a primal problem may take less time than solving the primal problem itself. The third goal of this chapter is to obtain an integer, rather than a fractional, solution to a mathematical linear programming model. Finding an integer solution is a task achieved by integer linear programming.
