ABSTRACT
In this chapter we deal with the problem of integrally representing a given integer, N, by a given function, f(x 1, …, xm ). Since general results are hard to come by we will restrict our attention, mainly, to the cases where f is a linear polynomial or a quadratic polynomial. For these cases one can more or less completely solve the representation problem, though we shall only deal with a few special cases.
