ABSTRACT

Making presentations to management can be a very important step in the management development. The key to making a good presentation to a manager is to think like a manager. The objective of the presentation is to make something happen. It involves a significant expenditure of capital money and people resources. Sometimes the technical aspects are so fundamental to the viability of the project that they fit better early in the presentation. Preparing answers is absolutely essential to a good presentation. Unfortunately, it is often ignored or given only a last minute consideration. So the first essential of a good presentation is to think like a manager. Research projects fail to be commercialized because one works on the wrong project for the wrong reasons; or one can’t solve the essential problems; or one does a poor job of presenting and selling the project. In other words, projects fail because one doesn’t make it happen.
