ABSTRACT

I tried to hire staff who would complement my own personality and talents. I was lucky that my daughter Elizabeth graduated from college six months prior to the election and became my volunteer coordinator. One advantage was that she is outgoing and another is that she knew many of my friends. She is very organized and did a good job running the daily operation. After we won the primary, she hired an assistant to help get volunteers for the walks, phone bank, and polls. A cheerful, organized person is important in that capacity.
