ABSTRACT

A thousand thanks to you Dear Madam for the receipts 2 which you have been so kind as to send me, as well as for the letter which accompany’d them. I have not been us’d to receive good news from the country where you are, but I shall always reckon it such, to hear that those whom I respect & love are well, & continue me their friendship, among whom I have ever given a particular place to you & to Mr G.[ower.] when Justice will prevail no man is able to say; it is therefore every man’s interest, to turn his thoughts, & to conduct his life, in such a manner, as not to fear ye worst consequences of injustice;& this I do assure you that I have done long ago.
