ABSTRACT
The ultimate value of Spiritual Capital theory will be the degree to which it can be operationalized so as to make a positive contribution to the reformation of existing neoliberal capitalistic practice at the individual, institutional and societal levels. One of the requirements for operationalizing Spiritual Capital theory at the individual level is raising individual consciousness of its existence. In an effort to operationalize Spiritual Capital theory at the individual level, it is critical that an individual understands as objectively as possible the current store of Spiritual Capital they possess. Of critical importance to operationalizing Spiritual Capital theory will be how the individual with well-formed Spiritual Capital can begin to transmit it to the institutional level. All too often in the practice of neoliberal economics, profit maximizing businesses view employees, and the labor they provide, as just another commodity that must be purchased and employed in the production process.
