ABSTRACT
Chemical exposure assessments are estimates of the amount, frequency, duration, and routes of human exposure to chemicals. Modern exposure assessments date back several centuries in the fields of public health, environmental health, toxicology, epidemiology, health physics, and industrial hygiene, though exposure assessments, as we know them today, were not always completed in the format that has evolved.
