ABSTRACT

The future knowledge organization will use an “integrated” approach to doing business. Through the use of employee knowledge profiles, they will assemble the “best” internal, multidisciplinary teams to handle their business transactions and client engagements. They will tap into their knowledge repositories and global case bases to learn how similar assignments were handled and solved. Organizational intelligence is an organization’s capability to process, interpret, encode, manipulate, and access information in a purposeful, goal-directed manner, so it can increase its adaptive potential in the environment in which it operates. Artificial intelligence deals with developing intelligent computer power to supplement human brain power, and better understanding how the readers think, learn, and reason. Technologies, like Management Information System and expert systems, can also facilitate organizational learning and enable the development of organizational intelligence. The age of artificial intelligence that readers are just approaching promises us some exciting new technologies.
