ABSTRACT
Jesus came to bring a new order in human relationships, to which the “bonds of flesh” are subject. The foundations of human sexuality have been deeply affected by Jesus’ revolution. The Gospel is not concerned with specific sexual behaviour, but, rather, with the basic structures in which sexuality develops and where the main alienations take place. Establishing the Kingdom, as Jesus advocated, implies, in effect, a radical change of all the systems of values in which society finds support. The substantial difference between the genius and Jesus is that the latter broke the cultural model in which he lived, battering and destroying with blunt logic the diverse relationships that bound and institutionalised it. Jesus questioned the very structure of sacred things, not only denying certain rites or certain laws, but fundamentally changing the religious categories and the social structures supported by them.
