Ted Keats’ (University of Virginia, Charlottesville) has firmly established the importance of normal variant recognition for most radiologists in the United States with his books on normal roentgen variants. Alban Kohler and EmiL-Alfred Zimmer did the same for generations of European radiologists with their classic ‘Borderlands’ text 2 .
