ABSTRACT

‘Skiagraphing the Mediasternal Moguls’ 1 was a somewhat tongue in cheek 1970 review of roentgen cardiac diagnosis by Marvin Daves, then Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology, University of Colorado Medical Center. Daves, now retired, used to be an avid skier who frequented the Winter Park area in Colorado (personal communication). The article’s title is a word play that cleverly links one of the early terms for a radiograph (skiagraph [shadow-picture]) to his subject. The word mediastinal was inadvertently misspelled in the title of the article (Daves, personal communication).
