ABSTRACT
This chapter provides the full text of a sample article reporting the results of a qualitative research study using the concepts and methods presented in Chapter 5. Following the text of the exemplar article, the authors have examined its purpose and audience; its structure; its methodology; the analytical method used to interpret the data; and the standards of rigor—the credibility, transferability, and dependability—of the study’s conclusions. The conclusions resulting from the analysis of tweets reported by Smith and van Ierland meet these standards of rigor to an acceptable degree. The tweets in fact are the “population” of interest though that population is significantly limited by the selection criteria that they used. Moreover, the discussion that they report is authentic, and the study’s conclusions could very likely be duplicated by a different researcher.
