ABSTRACT

Unless the contract expressly states otherwise, a contractor is entitled to plan and organise the carrying out of the Works in any way it chooses. For every construction project, the contractor must produce a programme in order to organise the labour force properly and aim to complete by the completion date in the contract. It is usual for a copy of the programme and any updates to be given to the architect. Some contracts expressly require that to be done. Arguments can occur about such things as the amount of float in a programme and its implications, whether the architect must approve the programme and the format for submission.
