ABSTRACT
My career so far has been one of using anthropology and disability studies to develop innovative approaches to rehabilitation training and research. Because I have always worked outside of traditional academic anthropology, my experiences may be eye-opening to graduate students who will soon plunge into the unknown world of professional employment. Many of them will find themselves, as I did, working in unusual and unexpected contexts.
