ABSTRACT

In the wars of terror, which are not always fought with weapons, there are no opposing categories of Muslim and non-Muslim, but rather only humans, humans who have strong faith, not just in religious and political ideals, but also in deeper sentiments. The wars of terror aim to obliterate inhumanity so that only humans can exist, who are, of course, the correct kind of humans. After a review of how women have been central to the narrative of civilization for centuries, we see how, today, the rhetoric about women’s issues has become part of the wars of terror. In Muslim countries, and among many Muslims living in the West, non-heterosexuality is often considered to be the consequence of a lack of correct ethos in the West, and a real disease that may affect Muslims through what many identify as ‘Liberal Islam’. The chapter also presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book.
