ABSTRACT

Matrix provides a clear and concise notation for the formulation and solution of variables which are assumed to be related by a set of linear equations. In the context of matrices for a given system of linear equations, one can find the solution using elementary row operations. Augmented matrices can be used to find solutions to linear equations. In the context of matrices for a given system of linear equations, one can find the solution using elementary row operations. The Gauss Elimination method is named in honour of the great mathematician Karl Friedrich Gauss. The basic method of Gauss Elimination is to create leading 1s and then use elementary row operations to put zeroes above and below these leading 1s.
