ABSTRACT
A number, of conceptual and methodological problems confront the economist concerned with the study of poverty. Indeed, in spite of the fact that almost all economists at one point or another have indicated awareness of the existence of poverty, the application of economic analysis to the study of poverty is in its beginnings.
