ABSTRACT

The United States still is faced with problems of adjustment to the technical progress of the past. This adjustment presumably will extend into the future. At the same time, water management and development also will be faced with the now evolving technology of the future. If efficient development alert to exploiting all the technical opportunities is sought, the problems brought by technology are compounded. An evaluation of the directions in which the newer technical activity is moving therefore is essential to the story of technology in water development.
