ABSTRACT

One may raise the question of whether the various frameworks for analysing governments from the output or outcome side have an inbuilt bias towards focussing upon the so-called “Western” state. Although it is true that much of the debate between the various schools introduced in the preceding chapters has examined the capitalist democracies, i.e. the countries that respect both the market economy and rule of law, attempts have also been made to model the Third World state.
