ABSTRACT

The process of REBT like the path of true love rarely runs smoothly and the skilled REBT therapist needs to be able to identify and deal effectively with a variety of obstacles to change. A full discussion of how trained therapists and trainees think and intervene in the face of such obstacles merits a book and there are a number of such books in the literature (e.g. Neenan and Dryden, 1996; Ellis, 2002).
