ABSTRACT

This chapter examines another form of critical realism which is based on a realist philosophy of science, and stems from the social sciences. Henceforth referred to simply as ‘CR’, this form of critical realism is associated with the International Association for Critical Realism and the Centre for Critical Realism (IACR and CCR: https://www.criticalrealism.demon.co.uk). This movement of CR is for the most part separate from ThCR, and until recently each tradition has made minimal reference to each other, with perhaps the important exception of an indirect link provided by Janet Martin-Soskice.1
