ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the ‘dialectical turn’ in CR, or DCR. Following on from the tenets 1-6 in the previous chapter, the dialectical turn of CR adds:

7 the category of absence, leading axiologically to the idea of emancipation as the move from unwanted and unneeded forms of determination to wanted and needed forms of determination;

8 a stratified truth, which allows for the different aspects of truth, including the intersubjective and alethic aspects.
