ABSTRACT

Whereas with Grete our starting point was the very limited amount of published material contained in the two interrelated works of 1923, with no explicit reference to the treatment situation, whether to the transference-countertransference dynamics, the external setting, the scope of the treatment or its outcome, with the 2¾-year-old Rita we are in a sense starting from the opposite position – Klein repeatedly returns to the subject of her youngest patient in the period from 1926 to 1955.
