ABSTRACT
Congratulations! You are a biracial American and your life story is being made
into a major motion picture. In addition, you have been hired as the casting director.
Who will you choose to play you? Will it be Julia Roberts, Denzel Washington,
or Thandie Newton? Will your decision be infl uenced by which actor resembles
you most in appearance? Will your decision be based on the economic class of
your character in the movie? This research examines the relationship between
social class and the portrayals of Blacks and Black/White biracial individuals in
