ABSTRACT
Three types of power most relate to the treatment of pupils manifesting Category B behaviour. These are Legitimate (Role-related), Reward and Coercive (Punishment) power. The best-known proponents of a reward and punishment approach are Canter and Canter (1996), who developed and market Assertive Discipline.
