ABSTRACT

Fairview is a generic special school, catering for pupils with a wide range of special needs. As the programme is designed to be individualised for the needs of each pupil, the major difficulty for the school was choosing a small group from their Key Stage 4 classes. Whatever their level of need, all the pupils who were chosen benefited from the whole experience. This included being part of a group, sharing equipment, using unfamiliar surroundings and coping with working with a number of adults.
