ABSTRACT
Assessment is a key topic in music education today, and one important aspect of it forms the focus for this chapter, that of assessment for learning. To begin to make the most of the potential that assessment for learning offers you and your pupils, it is important to understand that formative assessment is not a ‘bolt-on’ extra, but is integral to the very way you plan learning, and interact with your pupils.
